In September 2025, a fire erupted at Kathmandu’s historic Singhadurbar complex, which houses multiple government ministries and the national data center. Emergency teams responded quickly, and officials confirmed that the data center was not directly damaged, keeping critical digital records safe.
The blaze did, however, affect several offices and archives within the complex, causing temporary disruption to some public services. Authorities continue to assess the full impact and are reviewing safety measures to prevent future incidents.
