Jason DeFord, known as Jelly Roll, returned this Thanksgiving to the Nashville correctional facility where he was once incarcerated, offering a deeply personal act of giving. Understanding the loneliness of holidays behind bars, he provided a Thanksgiving meal for about 300 inmates and staff.
Nashville Sheriff Daron Hall praised the gesture, noting that Jelly Roll personally delivered the meals at the same facility that once held him, calling it an example of turning “past into purpose.”
