Bleached Secrets In Your Towels

Pale orange, yellow, or pink patches on dark towels are often caused by benzoyl peroxide, a common acne treatment ingredient that acts like bleach on fabric. Instead of leaving a stain, it permanently strips the dye from the fibers, which is why the spots look lighter than the towel.

Unlike rust or mildew marks, this damage usually can’t be washed out. To avoid it, use white towels for skincare or rinse products off fully before drying. Damaged towels can still be reused for cleaning or other household tasks.
