New Food Stamp Rules Start in …see more….

Starting November 1, 2025, stricter SNAP work rules will require many able-bodied adults without dependents to document 80 hours a month of work, training, or volunteering or risk losing benefits after three months. The changes also expand requirements to some older adults and reduce automatic protections for groups such as homeless people, veterans, and former foster youth.

Critics warn the new rules could make it harder for vulnerable people to keep food assistance, especially those with unstable jobs or personal challenges. A government shutdown could add more delays, increasing uncertainty for families who rely on the program.
