🇮🇷 Rising tensions in the Persian Gulf – Reports of attacks on U.S. bases

Reports from Iranian state television say an operation targeting U.S. military bases in the Gulf region has been launched. According to initial claims, several installations may have been struck, prompting authorities in nearby countries to advise residents to stay indoors and avoid military areas.

Reuters has reported a large explosion in Abu Dhabi, while the United Arab Emirates has temporarily closed its airspace. There are also claims that Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE was targeted with Iranian ballistic missiles. In Bahrain, smoke was reported near the Al Jufair district, home to the U.S. Fifth Fleet base, following an alleged attack. Meanwhile, Qatar’s Interior Ministry urged people to shelter in place after a Patriot missile system reportedly intercepted a missile aimed at Al Udeid Air Base, with the country also announcing the closure of its airspace.
