Pentagon shares eye-watering amount the US have already spent on Iran attacks in one week
Iran Conflict Reportedly Costs Billions in First Week
The conflict involving Iran has now lasted more than a week, and new reports reveal the enormous cost to American taxpayers. According to senior Pentagon officials, U.S. military operations during the first seven days have already totaled about $6 billion.
Roughly $4 billion of that spending reportedly went toward advanced weapons and missile defense systems. Experts say modern warfare has become extremely expensive, with interceptor missiles and precision weapons often costing millions of dollars each.
Lindsay Koshgarian of the National Priorities Project told CNN the conflict is unpredictable and could become far more costly over time. She noted that the Iraq War eventually cost nearly $3 trillion, warning that prolonged conflict can quickly drive expenses higher.
Estimates suggest the Iran operations have cost around $890 million per day during the first week. A report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies also estimated that the first 100 hours of the conflict alone cost about $3.7 billion, much of which was not included in the current federal budget.
Meanwhile, the situation is beginning to affect Americans at home. Reports indicate gas prices have risen by 20–30 cents per gallon, while some analysts warn inflation could climb further if tensions continue.
