Beloved TV star dies of cancer aged just 61

Thomson, widely known for her high-profile interviews with politicians and celebrities, died Sunday morning surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer, according to CTV News. She was 61. Over her career, she reported for CTV News Toronto, later becoming a CTV News Channel anchor and appearing on Canada AM. She also served as a Global News anchor from 1997 to 2003.
