Breaking: Hospital Locked Down After Active Shooter Report

Early Thursday, Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital, about 24 miles north of Detroit, faced a tense situation after reports of an active shooter around 7 a.m. Authorities responded quickly, issuing a shelter-in-place order as staff secured themselves inside the facility.

A 25-year-old man was shot twice in the arm and later listed in stable condition. Investigators said the incident appears to have been targeted, identifying the suspected gunman as a hospital employee who allegedly fired multiple shots in the parking lot, with one bullet also striking a nearby vehicle.
