Pregnant woman gives birth in COPP…See more

A routine intake at a police holding facility turned into a medical emergency when a woman taken into custody for a minor, non-violent matter unexpectedly went into labor.

Staff initially noticed signs of discomfort before realizing the situation was rapidly escalating. Emergency services were called and preparations were made to transport her to a hospital, but labor progressed too quickly for outside medical teams to arrive in time.

Officers and facility staff shifted focus to assisting the woman, clearing space and providing privacy and basic support as the birth became imminent. Authorities have not released further details about the mother or child, but officials said the priority was ensuring safety until medical professionals could take over.
