Brazilian authorities are investigating the killing of 15-year-old Yasmin Estefânia Alves Ribeiro in Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso, after her body was found in a forested area following days of searching.

The teenager had been reported missing by her family after disappearing from the Tessele Júnior neighborhood. Firefighters and police conducted an extensive search before locating her body in a remote section of woodland. Forensic teams confirmed signs of physical trauma, and the case is being treated as a homicide.
