Man becomes single dad to quadruplets after wife dies giving birth

The joy of learning you’re going to be a parent is often filled with hope and dreams, but for Carlos Morales of Phoenix, that joy turned bittersweet. After overcoming a miscarriage, Carlos and his wife Erica were stunned to learn they were expecting quadruplets. In January 2015, the babies were delivered safely—but moments later, Erica died from complications after childbirth. Left grieving yet determined, Carlos devoted himself to raising their four children, honoring his late wife’s memory while embracing the role of a devoted single father with the help of family and community support.
