Their bodies are still bright with reds, ochres, and creams, and their eyes remain sharply outlined\u2014a rare level of preservation for artwork from this period. Surrounding hieroglyphs and carved scenes depict daily life, offerings, and sacred rites meant to accompany Ankhmahor into the afterlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Researchers say the chamber\u2019s smooth floor and rugged, hand-carved ceiling highlight both the craftsmanship and labor that went into creating this intimate funerary space.
