Arnold Schwarzenegger says heaven is some fantasy-That’s the sad part
Arnold Schwarzenegger says he doesn’t believe in an afterlife, calling heaven “a fantasy” during a candid conversation with Danny DeVito for Interview magazine.
Reflecting on death, Schwarzenegger said bluntly that no one truly knows what happens after we die and rejected claims of certainty about the soul or reunion in heaven. He admitted the idea of never seeing loved ones again is painful, adding that what troubles him most is losing everyday joys — friendship, travel, exercise, and simple moments of being alive.
DeVito responded by emphasizing the value of life itself, calling it “the best.”
Despite his skepticism about an afterlife, Schwarzenegger noted he was raised Catholic and still values lessons from his upbringing, especially the idea of having “a servant’s heart” — serving something greater than oneself. He connected that principle to public service, arguing leaders should prioritize higher ideals over personal or political gain.
