Store Owner Stops Selling Pepsi Bottles After Noticing New Logo On Them

Note: This story was originally reported in October 2018. S&Z Grocery in Athens, Alabama drew attention after owner Phillip Stewart decided to stop selling 20-ounce Pepsi and Diet Pepsi bottles that featured the NFL logo. Stewart said he could not, in good conscience, support the products because of the branding, though he planned to continue carrying other Pepsi items without the logo. While he acknowledged the players’ protests had brought attention to important issues, he said he disagreed with the method. The decision reportedly risked some business, but many customers voiced support for his stance.
